-2005-

december 05 Happy Holidays! check out the listen page for a few downloads available for a limited time. I became quite haunted by this song 'Liverpool lullaby' and couldn't stop singing it so I decided to test my hallway's acoustics and record it on my computer. As for 'To be a child', it was inspired by the birth of my nephew in Paris; I started thinking about the worlds of possibility that a new life holds...The third song I wrote on a poem by French surrealist Paul Eluard. Forgive the poor sound quality...and enjoy until mid-january! More shows coming in 2006, check out the shows page.

november 05 Helene wrote the music for two songs in a new production of The False Servant by French playwright Marivaux, put on by the San Francisco theater company Abydos. Director Jessica Heidt transposed the 18th century play to the 1920s, and the songs, with lyrics by translators Ann & George Crowe (also responsible for the new adaptation), are wonderfully performed by the actors, in a 20s jazz/broadway style. The play is running fridays and saturdays at the Exit on Taylor from November 4 to December 17 (except on Thanksgiving weekend). For more details, showtimes, and tickets, visit the Abydos Theater website at www.abydostheater.org.

october 05 Perfection's somewhere near your bones is now available through the Antenna Farm Records online store : click here then browse 'beam'. Other website updates and mp3s on their way soon...Happy Autumn!

02.05 The band is in the studio, acoustic shows are listed in the shows page .

09.04 The East Coast mini tour was a success! Thank you to everybody who came to the shows and to my kind hosts (Alexia, Sarah, Christina, Joey, Linn and Keith). A special mention to the wonderful Nightlight audience in Chapel Hill- one of my best nights...I ended up playing two radio shows: one in Cambridge, MA (WMBR) and one in New York (EVR, the tiniest radio station I've ever seen!-right on 1st Avenue in the East Village...) - some of the WMBR show is on the listen page, as well as a few numbers from the Pianos show in New York City.

08.04 Hélène's new cd of acoustic songs, Perfection's somewhere near your bones, is now available.A limited cdr pressing with collaborations and recording assistance by Nino Moschella, Sam Flax Keener, Willow Willow, Jay Bronzini and Gordon Root. The cover art was kindly provided by Scott Hewicker- try some mp3s on the listen page.

07.04 Beam is still in the process of recording...meanwhile Hélène is playing some acoustic shows and planning an East Coast mini tour for August: New York City, Washington DC, Virginia and North Carolina so far...check the shows page as we add more dates.

06.04 Our next show is coming up! We've been invited to play the sf_indie list party.SF_indie is a local online discussion group around...you guessed it, indie music.Their parties are always fun and this one will be on Thursday June 10th at the Cafe du Nord. Our talented friends Miranda and Jessica of Willow Willow will be singing back up vocals for us. Details and more in the shows page.

05.04 We've started working on recording a Bert Jansch song, 'Do you hear me now' (from his first album), a number we've been playing live for a while now. This is for a British Folk Tribute to be released by DBK works this winter.

03.04 Helene will be playing a solo acoustic show at South By Southwest on Saturday March 20th at Club de Ville (900 Red River, Austin,TX) as part of the RUNT showcase.
